According to Robert:

Part of "Tales of the Cocktail" used to be a large "Cocktail Hour", where many of the special guest mixologists and authors would create a special drink and serve it to the crowds of folks who have gathered. This is a drink I created one year. I was specifically trying to do something in a "Tiki" theme with this one. Since those Polynesian inspired restaurants were intended as a mini-vacation, I felt the name "Voyager" worked really well... or perhaps it's because I'm a big Star Trek fan... either way, it's a great drink.
