Darcy O'Neil is a well known cocktail writer and soda fountain author/historian best known for his work on the website Art of Drink and his book on the history of the soda fountain, Fix the Pumps: History of the American Soda fountain.
He first started writing about drinks in 2004 for "Mixologist: The Journal of the American Cocktail, Volume 1" and then started his blog/website Art of Drink in 2005. In 2010 he published the book Fix the Pumps, which was nominated for Best New Cocktail Book Spirit Award at Tales of the Cocktail in 2011, the same year he was nominated for Best Cocktail Writer.
Prior to writing, he studied chemistry and worked in research and development labs for 14 years. He also was a bartender from 2003 until 2012 working in fine dining and beach bars.
Currently, he still writes and produces vintage soda fountain and cocktail ingredient Acid Phosphate.
