    Dear All, as some of you Facebook friends may know I am heading to the USA for a long multi-city tour judging the best Twisted Tanqueray and Tonic in America this summer...     Stan is/was associated with the Pressburg Swizzle Co here!/group.php?gid=159403635086&ref=mf that having been said they have been slow to respond to any requests which I know is causing Stan all sorts of headaches... its not his company. aw

    Dear G, of course the site is live... but dont think the nomination forms are up yet... as Ann is the Queen of emails I am sure we will know when they are up... I agree with you that Australia has a very vibrant cocktail scene... I regularly tell people I think it perhaps the most creative one on the planet right now

    Dear G, as far as I am aware (or this is how it was) it starts with the Head Judge creating a list of nominations and then the judging panel adding to that list individually before ranking them and then re ranking a shortlist. Its a hard one to organise sometimes as of course not every judge has been to each venue, enjoyed each bartender and gazed at

    we are having a lots of fun with the Clubland from the 1934 Cafe Royal book.... 30ml Vodka (we use Smirnoff 55) 30ml Port (we use Ramos Pinta 10 yr Tawny but it works with most) dash bitters (we use Angostura but only until we get some new ones from some of those kind bitters making people) stir and strain and perfume with lemon oils but discard twist

    Dear All, I have often railed against the use of the term mixologist as it misses out the beer/wine/shot drinkers ina bar... I am (again) a bartender and tend my bar and to those that are in it... water only for you sir... certainly. The same goes doubly for spirit technicians; intoxicologists, drinksmiths, bar chefs, cocktailians and the like... I
