As you hopefully are already aware, a revised edition of Ted Haigh's excellent historical cocktail resource "Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Cocktails" is coming out on July 1st!

http://www.amazon.com/dp/1592535615/

The first edition of his book went out of print a couple years ago, and initially the publisher wasn't going to do a reprint of it. However they were flooded by an avalanche of concerned cocktailians, and decided to not only re-issue it, but also allow Ted to do a full revision of it so it could include a wealth of additional information and details. Let's send the publisher a clear signal that this was the right choice! Pre-order your copy now! :->

I'm waiting until Tales where I believe Ted will be selling/autographing them. Otherwise, I'd be ordering it...

When I ordered my set of copies I told them how excited I, and other cocktail afficionados, are about this coming out.

Can't wait to get them in my hands and on the shelf.

(And would happliy host and organize a signing for any of the authors I carry... hint hint, Ted.  Robert.  AJ. Dale. Gary. etc...)

Cheers!

My copy just arrived.... Doc did an excellent job at this "more than just a reprint", and I'd even say "more then just an update"!

I've already sold through the 10 copies I ordered, and have placed an order for 20 more.

The book is wonderful.

And although the spiral binding makes it extra handy at the bar as it lies flat and stays open to the recipe you're reading, making, drinking, it is a little squeaky in the wee hours of the morning while you're reading it in bed... next to someone... who's trying to sleep.

(Oh come on - like none of you have ever taken a brand new cocktail book to bed for a little late night reading. Smile

Another item of note: I've gotten a report that some of the pages may be out of order.  Particularly between 112 and 130.   That being said the publisher was great about it and is sending out a replacement copy without further ado.

Enjoy and big thanks to Dr. Cocktail!

Received my copy on the 27th and honestly, I have to say that next to Imbibe, this book is probably one of the best pieces of modern cocktail literature written to date. Excellent job Doctor.

On another note, as early as I received the book (much to my surprise,) there are no pages out of order.

Cheers,Ciaran

Adam, I think we bought your last copy on Saturday.  We couldn't wait for Tales although we'll now have to figure out if it's worth transporting roundtrip for an autograph...

I also can't believe that it's twice as thick as my 1st edition!
