Art Deco style bar and restaurant in downtown Oakland, California. Two doors down from the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) 19th Street Oakland stop. An extensive cocktail menu loaded with traditional but eccentric favorites and a few original and lovely cocktails. (try the Carter Beats the Devil.) The restaurant serves very upscale entrees and small plates. And desserts. And... Good for just a drink (or two) or a serious night out. Come early to miss (some of) the crowd, or get a reservation. Gets loud with the crowd.
